Puakenikeni (Ten Cent Flower) with Blue Camo Background, 12"x9", gouache on 140 lb. Arches paper.
An original watercolor painting featuring creamy pale peach Puakenikeni flowers, which are abundant in Hawai'i and are a common choice flower for making a flower lei. I had fun pairing the pale peach tone of the flowers against a dark blue and black camouflage background. This piece is part of my camouflage series, made in 2023 and ongoing.
