EMILY BEESON or “Bee” is a (largely) self-taught painter who’s fascinated with color, pattern repetition and the great Mother of all inspiration: Nature. Most inspired by time spent outdoors on both land & sea and at local farmers' markets where produce and flowers are everywhere in sight, Bee has been drawing on friends' jeans and paper cocktail napkins for as long as she can remember.
The mantra that guides her art-making practice — "You Are Already Free" — concurrently motivates her in life, fueling and re-fueling her with courage to show up as her most authentic self.
Post-college and Watson fellowship, Emily spent nine years in San Francisco loving the culture & landscape. A life-long Nature lover, she eventually fled to the 'country' to become an organic flower farmer & floral designer in Sonoma County.
Feeling called even further west, she landed on the Big Island of Hawaii in fall of 2020. Here, she’s devoted to painting the myriad of wondrous tropical fruits and flowers that abound.
