SYLLABUS
Week 1: A brief history of watercolor, overview of essential materials & the two primary watercolor techniques 'wet on wet' and 'wet on dry,’ Color Wheel 101, discuss value & create value studies.
Week 2: Paint a fun ‘shape study,’ Composition & Still Life 101 (learn how to create an interesting composition & a dynamic still life, then paint it); explore some abstract techniques and apply them to the background of the still life as desired.
Week 3: Learn how to draw and paint two to three (live) tropical flowers found in Hawai'i; discuss and learn how to paint cast shadows.
Week 4: Make a colorful painting of local fruits (live models will be brought in) and a fun, loose abstract painting that’s just a ‘free flow’ exploration of color and shapes!
