NOW OFFERING TWO TYPES OF WATERCOLOR CLASSES! Use the 'Contact' form to write me a message and register. 4 WEEK 'INTRO TO WATERCOLOR' CLASS - 4 Two Hour Sessions Held Weekly $70/class (drop in) or $250 for All Four Weeks SYLLABUS Week 1: A brief history of watercolor, overview of essential materials & the two primary watercolor techniques 'wet on wet' and 'wet on dry,’ Color Wheel 101, discuss value & create value studies. Week 2: Paint a fun ‘shape study,’ Composition and Still Life 101' (learn how to create an interesting composition & create a dynamic still life, then paint it); explore some abstract techniques and apply them to the background of the still life as desired. Week 3: Learn how to draw and paint two to three (live) tropical flowers found in Hawai'i; discuss and learn how to paint cast shadows. Week 4: Make a colorful painting of local fruits (live models will be brought in) and a fun, loose abstract painting that’s just a ‘free flow’ exploration of color and shapes! ______________________________________________ PLEIN AIR 'POWER HOUR' CLASS - $30/Class or $125 for a 5-Class Pack: A one hour long "en plein air" watercolor class, designed for beginner and intermediate students. Learn how to plan your composition, complete a basic pencil sketch of the landscape & capture the scenery in front of you in a highly focused, but quick, manner.Most classes are held near the ocean so for these, we will specifically learn how to capture sea and sky.
